World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The upgrade of items allows players to increase the level of weapons and armor that are equippable. This improves the stats of that equipment, in addition to sometimes adding buffs or rerolling an affix.
It is important to remember that upgrading your magic and common gear isn't always worth the cost. Unique and rare equipment will soon surpass upgraded magic and common equipment.
Cost
When a player decides to upgrade an item, they have to spend Gold to do so. The cost of upgrading an item depends on its current level and the upgrade type selected. Upgrades to weapons are usually cheaper than upgrades for armor, since weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required increases as an item is upgraded.
The upgraded items will also have improved stats that can improve its performance in a variety of ways. This could include boosting its attack power or critical strike chance. The upgraded item can also give additional bonuses to the unit it's equipped with. These upgrades can be used to boost the overall strength of a group or unit, and may be a major influence on the gameplay.
Any item upgrader NPC can be found in the game. In general, these NPCs are located in capital cities or major questing areas. You can also find upgraders of items by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses, and speaking to NPCs in the garrisons of your faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players upgrade the level of weapons, armor and trinkets. This process is largely identical to the process of reforging gear in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the currency appropriate to the task players must visit an NPC for upgrading items to complete the process.
Upgrades can be expensive, especially for armor and weapons. Depending on which upgrade track you select, each item level increase will cost Crests or Valorstones. The costs are prohibitive for those who do not have the funds or are unable to grind.
The game allows you to roll a new item by with a special tool in the items menu. This option will replace the upgraded item with a level 1 version that offers different bonus effects. This can be useful to get better rolls on items that have been upgraded, but it can also be a waste of resources.
Requirements

The bonus is a combination of a guaranteed additional substat and a random statistic that will change in value from upgrade to upgrade.
Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item that has been upgraded. The new item will come with an additional set of bonuses and a lower base item level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to remember that the item rerolled will not retain its level or have any wasted resources.
Some upgraded items are only able to be rerolled if the initial item was Unique Epic, Rare or Rare. Extraordinary items are also allowed to be rerolled, but their original stats will be replaced with a flat bonus. Rerolling a Rare or Epic item will produce an ordinary version, while rolling the Epic version will result in an elite version.
Upgraded items could have additional modifiers that can improve their performance and improve their stats. These additional modifiers don't come with the upgrade price. They can be obtained through doing quests, purchasing them at the Trading Post or from other players. They can also be earned by fulfilling specific missions in the game.
To upgrade an equipment piece, you need to visit the NPC [Armorto upgrade an item, visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. Depending on the type of item, you will need one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is available from monsters 21+ and Giants and Dice 12 is available from Bosses). You will also require different amounts of Minerals, Erons and Giants.
Time
Upgrades to items can be used to improve the power of your equipment and ship without the need to level them. While upgrading isn't cheap, it can be a good way to improve your stats without having to spend a lot of time in combat. It is important to understand the benefits and costs prior to making the investment of time or money.
Each upgrade boosts the stats of the item by in a specific amount, and gives the chance to obtain a bonus substat. The extra substat is a random, and can vary from a small increase in one stat to a larger boost in another. Make sure to focus on the stats that are best in slots first. They will provide a more profit for your investment.

You can view the time required to complete an upgrade when you open your inventory and choose a weapon, ship or other accessory. The upgrade window will then show the progress and expected completion time. In certain cases, you may be capable of speeding the process by using a Glyph.
Black Lion Salvage or Ascended Salvage offer a salvage kit which allows you to retrieve all or a portion of upgrade components. This is not applicable to legendary equipment or upgrades that can be recovered using an Upgrade extractor or by making a claim with the appropriate Karma dealer.
Rewards
Upgrades to items reward players with a range of items and currencies. In addition, each upgrade is able to grant a random extra stat bonus. The amount of bonus value varies between upgrades, and is typically higher for rare items. Players can use the Great Vault search to see whether an item is upgradeable before spending tickets. The search can also determine whether the item is of a certain tier and if the player could benefit from a particular upgrade.
In the process of upgrading the item will gradually grow closer to its next level, but won't always reach a full upgrade bar. This process consumes Growthstones and Sollant, but there is the chance to achieve a fully upgraded item with just one cycle of growth. The higher the levels an item gains, the higher its stat value will be, and the more items can be upgraded.
Upgrade components can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to give an attribute benefit or an additional effect when the equipment is equipped. Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. Players can also find upgraded items by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high tier salvage kit. Glyphs, which are placed in gathering tools are able to be exchanged without restriction.
By selecting the item and pressing the green button with a an arrow that rerolls the player can reroll it into another upgradeable item. This will change the layout of the game and allow players to choose up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be replaced with one of the level 1 items. Recycled items will not keep their status or the amount of resources needed to upgrade them.
An item's maximum upgrade level is determined by its quality and tier. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded to levels up to nine, whereas common items can only be upgraded up to level six. The upgrades to an item are added to the base statistics of the item which means that they won't increase after a certain amount.
